Julong News(Reporter:Yan Wenting) From February 21-23, 2014, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Policy Partnership on Food Security (PPFS) Dialogue on Food Security and Trade & the first PPFS Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM1) was held in Ningbo, China. Yang Xuejiang, Chairman of Julong Group attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

Chairman Yang gave an introduction to the current situation and development planning of Julong Group’s palm oil business, and shared basic experience about Julong’s internationalization. He mentioned that Julong Group has already had palm plantations with a total area of 50,000 hectares. In addition, the range of cooperation plantation in Indonesia has covered more than 40 villages with a total area of 10,000 hectares, with more than 5,000 families, that is, over 20,000 people enjoying the benefits. In the process of overseas development, Julong actively integrates with APEC regional cooperation, respects international industry rules, promotes food security in Asia-Pacific region, and regards bringing benefits to people in the country where the group has investment as international social responsibility. Chairman Yang hoped that with the promotion and guidance of PPFS meeting, Juolong Group could achieve cooperation with local government to drive food security and economic development in Asia-Pacific region.
Yang Xuejiang carried out an extensive exchange and communication with leaders of State Grain Administration, China Oil & Food Import and Export Corporation (COFCO) and Yihai Kerry Group. PPFS in 2014 conference was host by the State Grain Administration with the theme of “strengthening partnership relations and safeguarding grain security”. Representatives who took part in the conference were from APEC PPFS member countries and related enterprises, APEC secretariat, APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) secretariat and other related food and agricultural organizations and news media.
