Relevant Points of the National Program for the Medium and Long Term Food Security

1. The consumption of edible vegetable oil keeps increasing.
In 2010, the per capita edible vegetable oil consumption of China is 17.8 kilometers with total consumption demand of 24.1 million tons and by the year of 2020, it would increase to 20 kilometers with total consumption demand of 29 million tons.
2. Promote the production of oil crops and solve the land-occupying conflicts between oil crops and grain crop.
3. Vigorously develop the woody grain and oil industry; actively guide, advance the industrialization of woody grain and oil, promote the deep-processing of woody grain and oil products and aggrandize the supply of woody grain and oil.
4. Implement “Going out” strategy; encourage domestic enterprises to “go out”, establish a dependable security system of grain-importing recourses and improve the capability.
